Leadership is NOT what you do to cadets...

Leadership is what you do WITH cadets...

Leadership is what you do with people...

Management is what you do with things...

COBC Class of 2001, July 2000, NAS Lemoore

On July 14, 2001 twenty-three Cadet Officers traveled to the Naval Air Station Lemoore,  just outside of Fresno, California to attend Cadet Officers Basic Course, an accredited Pacific Region Cadet Leadership School.

13 Cadet Officers from California,  3 from Washington, 2 from Oregon, and 1 from Nevada, Alaska, Hawaii, Texas and Florida.  Each Cadet Officer was searching for the answer on  "How to become a better leader?"

After 8 days of intensive training involving 30.5 hours of leadership training, 22.5 hours of writing and verbal skills training, 13.5 hours of group discussions of character development and 6 written assignments, 8 daily summaries, 2 impromptu speeches and 1 instructional class they, in their own unique way learned lifelong lessons from "So What", "Marbles",  "Going out for coffee" and "everyone is Pink on the inside".

Congratulations to the COBC 2001 Distinguished Graduate
